These hearty stuffed cabbage rolls are a delicious comfort food that’s perfect for any occasion. Packed with a savory filling and simmered in a flavorful sauce, they’re sure to be a hit with your family and friends.

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (14 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage head and place it in the boiling water. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the outer leaves are tender and can be easily peeled off. Remove the cabbage from the pot and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Carefully peel off the cabbage leaves and trim off the thick center vein from each leaf. Place about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides as you go. Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in a large baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  7. After 1 hour, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  8. Serve the stuffed cabbage rolls hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy!
