  • 4 cups cooked navy beans (or 2 cans, drained and rinsed)
  • 1 cup root beer
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: crispy bacon bits, chopped green onions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the root beer, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add the cooked navy beans to the bowl and gently fold them into the sauce mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. If desired, sprinkle crispy bacon bits over the top of the beans for extra flavor.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  7. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the beans are bubbling and the sauce has thickened slightly.
