Chicken lollipops are a fun and flavorful appetizer perfect for any occasion. This grilled version adds a smoky char and extra depth of flavor that will have everyone coming back for more. Follow this simple recipe to create delicious grilled chicken lollipops that are sure to be a hit at your next gathering.

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • BBQ sauce for serving (optional)
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

  1. Start by preparing the chicken wings. Using a sharp knife, cut around the base of each wing, pushing the meat down towards the bottom to create the lollipop shape.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken lollipops in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken lollipops from the marinade and discard any excess marinade.
  5. Grill the chicken lollipops for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and nicely charred on the outside. Make sure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken lollipops from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. If desired, brush them with BBQ sauce for extra flavor.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, if using, and serve hot. These grilled chicken lollipops are delicious on their own or served with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
