Crispy Airfryer Apple Turnover Recipe

Enjoy the delicious taste of apple turnovers without the guilt by making them in your airfryer! This recipe creates crispy, flaky turnovers filled with warm, cinnamon-spiced apples.

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces) puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

  1. Preheat your airfryer to 350°F (180°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of water. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling to create triangles. Press the edges firmly to seal, using a fork to crimp if desired.
  6. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash.
  7. Brush the tops of each turnover with the egg wash.
  8. Place the turnovers in the airfryer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
  9. Airfry at 350°F (180°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the turnovers are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Carefully remove the turnovers from the airfryer and let them cool slightly.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
  12. Enjoy your crispy airfryer apple turnovers warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
